1、Creative Design of 2-DOF Mechanisms for Road Tractors
Based on our atlas of fractionated kinematic chains, we studied the creative design of 11-link 2-DOF fractionated mechanisms of the road tractor. Some new mechanisms are shown in Fig.1.

2、Creative Design of 3-DOF Hydraulic Excavators
Based on our atlas of non-fractionated kinematic chains, we studied the creative design of 12-link 3-DOF non-fractionated mechanisms of the face-shovel hydraulic excavator. Some new mechanisms are shown in Fig.2. The physical prototype of the first mechanism in Fig. 2 is shown in Fig.3.

3、Creative Design of 6-DOF Forging Manipulators
Based on our atlas of non-fractionated kinematic chains, we studied the creative design of 12-link 3-DOF non-fractionated main mechanisms of the forging manipulator. Some new main mechanisms of forging manipulator are shown in Fig.4.

Based on the main mechanisms in Fig. 4, new mechanisms of forging manipulators can be obtained, as shown in Fig. 5. The virtual prototype of the first mechanism in Fig. 5 is shown in Fig. 6a, and its physical prototype is shown in Fig. 6b.

4、Creative Design of 9-speed Automatic Transmissions
From our atlas of non-fractionated planetary gear trains, those planetary gear trains which can be used as the sub-structure of 9-speed automatic transmissions are automatically determined, as shown in Fig. 7. Based on the three planetary gear trains and the lever analogy method, we designed 168 mechanisms of nine-speed automatic transmissions. Some new mechanisms are shown in Fig. 8. The prototype of the first mechanism in Fig. 8 is shown in Fig. 9.
